A collision led to Chivos de Punto Fijo getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Zhao Shu Cheng hit a great ball. Pedro Manzanares was out of position in the 8 minute of play, and Cezary Makomaski capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Cezary Makomaski really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. 11 minutes into the match, Chivos de Punto Fijo's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Montenegro came free, but Dani Hernández reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dani Hernández showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Cazalla in the 12th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Chivos de Punto Fijo's zone, Axel Montenegro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dani Hernández came out of the goal and Axel Montenegro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The throw-in from Anders Ståhlman in the 16th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Colombia's Kevin Mastache. 18 minutes into the match, Chivos de Punto Fijo's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Montenegro came free, but Dani Hernández reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 18 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Colombia's Axel Montenegro fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. In the 20th minute, Pascual Carballar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Colombia defense, Filip Bochinski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Manzanares. The Colombia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Manzanares should have stopped the shot. The throw-in from Anders Ståhlman in the 24th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Colombia's Kevin Mastache. 26 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Filip Bochinski came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 28th minute of the match, Cezary Makomaski tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Pedro Manzanares saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Axel Montenegro in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dani Hernández prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 33 minutes into the match, Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Filip Bochinski. Anders Ståhlman made in the 39th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Colombia's Kevin Mastache. Axel Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dani Hernández having to interfere. 46 minutes into the game, Axel Montenegro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Dani Hernández was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cezary Makomaski stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Colombia's Kevin Mastache quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Anders Ståhlman, made in the 51st minute of the game. The supporters of Colombia booed when Chivos de Punto Fijo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filip Bochinski didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abram Sarmiento in the 53rd minute of play forced Chivos de Punto Fijo's goalkeeper Dani Hernández to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dani Hernández stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Abram Sarmiento's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. After 57 played minutes Colombia got a freekick which was hit by Samuel Navarro. Chivos de Punto Fijo's Juan Torrent was substituted for Narciso Gombal. Samuel Navarro hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Dani Hernández made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abram Sarmiento in the 60th minute of play. Gaston Botinos kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Dani Hernández showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abram Sarmiento, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Axel Montenegro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Dani Hernández made a huge save. In the 63rd minute, Colombia's Axel Montenegro dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. In the 68th minute Axel Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dani Hernández saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Axel Montenegro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dani Hernández having to make a save. With a little luck, Chivos de Punto Fijo's Dani Hernández got control of the ball when Axel Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Axel Montenegro struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Dani Hernández didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Colombia. Colombia's Ignacio Mastache was substituted for Abram Sarmiento. Colombia made a substitution. Abram Secada replaced Axel Montenegro. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Äliqulu Vermäliyev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cezary Makomaski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Manzanares having to interfere. 93 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Äliqulu Vermäliyev came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 94th minute Ignacio Mastache shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dani Hernández saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 96 minutes, Abram Secada took a quick shot and it went in 2-3 without a chance for Dani Hernández to make any attempt to save it.
