Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Daniel Zorita kicked off to start the match. Pankracy Malicki scored 1-0 in the 3rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 7th minute. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Mikolaj Jerzyk quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 13th minute, Julian Obuchowicz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adam Pacholewski in the 17th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 18 minutes into the match, Newcastle United's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Mikolaj Jerzyk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pankracy Malicki got free with Julio Vera in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mikolaj Jerzyk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 25th minute of the match. Mikolaj Jerzyk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 26th minute of play. In the 27th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Newcastle United's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 27 minutes, Luis Andino made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Newcastle United's Mikolaj Jerzyk tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Thomas Vollmar in the 34th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Julio Vera kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 2-1 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. After a rather tough play, Newcastle United's Tadeusz Pstrongowski got a free kick in the 39th minute. 41 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pankracy Malicki. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mikolaj Jerzyk having to interfere. Thomas Vollmar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Thomas Vollmar stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adam Pacholewski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 55 minutes into the match, Newcastle United's goalkeeper Mikolaj Jerzyk had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Newcastle United booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Montenegro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pankracy Malicki took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. In the 68th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gisbert to maneuver through the defense. In the 69th minute of the match Zé Paulo Zonta sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera skillfully saved the ball. Mikolaj Jerzyk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 70th minute of play. Agustín Saelices received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Mikolaj Jerzyk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thomas Vollmar, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. When Newcastle United's Thomas Vollmar in the 78th minute got a chance for a shot 78th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mikolaj Jerzyk breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Newcastle United had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
