The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Cosmos 1984 NewDance. In the 5th minute there was a penalty for Venezuela. Tomas Illescas stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Andrzej Köpke. 0-1. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a free kick in the 9th minute. With a left leg Andrzej Köpke saved Cosmos 1984 NewDance from getting behind. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan Pietras in the 21st minute of the match. 21 minutes into the match, Jan Pietras had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jan Pietras was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. The Cosmos 1984 NewDance fans' excitement grew in the 64th match minute when Cosmos 1984 NewDance's Jan Pietras looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan Pietras in the 89th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan Pietras, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute.
