Uruguay were awarded a corner in the 18th minute after Fragleses's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jaime Cazalla took the corner. Uruguay's Jaime Cazalla was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Kim Hänninen in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kevin Carballal during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Kevin Carballal kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Joaquin Gayoso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wiktor Gomolka in the 20th minute. If Francisco Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 91st match minute, Fragleses was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edward Mentus to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Maximiliano Escribano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Uruguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Maximiliano Escribano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kim Hänninen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Maximiliano Escribano got free with Kim Hänninen in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fragleses's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
