Eliseo Mina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 5 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Sulo Montaña came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. George Buturugã made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Mina in the 7th minute of play. In the 11th minute Sulo Montaña shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Milagros Fraga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Efraim Gilabert kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Ahmet Hamdi Ortan might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rolando Noboa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ahmet Hamdi Ortan ran back to his position shaking his head. A sloppy throw-in by Moises Gayoso in the 21st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by LOI's Cabbar Dinçay. In the 22nd minute, Sulo Montaña reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Rolando Noboa. The goal made the score 1-0. 27 minutes into the match, Julian Murillo notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of LOI's George Buturugã. George Buturugã was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Peru's Eliseo Mina managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Bektaş Veli Ülgü in the 36 minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luz Tejedor in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck George Buturugã prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rolando Noboa made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Sulo Montaña sent off a good shot on target. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Özgür Özbay in the 55th minute of play. LOI made a substitution. Eriberto Segio replaced Kaan Öztanır. 61 minutes into the game, Bektaş Veli Ülgü threw the ball into play from the sideline. Peru's Alonso Berganza quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Alonso Berganza made in the 67th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Moises Gayoso however managed to control. George Buturugã took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luz Tejedor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of LOI booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luz Tejedor didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but George Buturugã read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. 77 minutes had been played when some careless play by LOI's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luz Tejedor was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest. LOI's Habib Durukan was substituted for Ahmet Hamdi Ortan. With an all-out effort, Peru's George Buturugã threw himself towards the right post 82 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eliseo Mina, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 83 minutes into the match, LOI's goalkeeper George Buturugã had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julian Murillo. Özgür Özbay hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rafael Gallo got free with George Buturugã in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 94th minute, Anthony Alvarado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Habib Durukan in the 95th minute of the match. When the match was over Peru could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than LOI throughout the match.
