Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Paraguay's Jaime Pardo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Neal Weatherby fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacobo Nores having to interfere. Steven Chaptal came free with the goalkeeper in the 20th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Jacobo Nores could save by the left post. When Neal Weatherby in the 24th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Jacobo Nores kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 2-0 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. Jacobo Nores made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Neal Weatherby in the 27th minute of play. Elderslie Magpies's Rick Souness got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 37 played minutes Paraguay got a freekick which was hit by Primitivo Escribano. In the 39th minute Neal Weatherby shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacobo Nores saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Neal Weatherby to strike the kick off in the second half. If Hector Covarrubias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Paraguay getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Raul Venegas hit a great ball. A collision led to Elderslie Magpies getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Gilberto Fernandes hit a great ball. In the 58th minute, Neal Weatherby left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Elderslie Magpies fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Neal Weatherby succeeded in the game's 61st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 4-0. Ovidio Etxekopar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacobo Nores having to interfere. In the 67th minute, Neal Weatherby ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jacobo Nores was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. Raul Venegas kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. In the 73rd minute, Neal Weatherby made a precise shot to the right of Jacobo Nores. Paraguay's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. In the 77th match minute, Elderslie Magpies was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilberto Fernandes to maneuver through the defense. Paraguay's Xavier Zoido quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Sam Mccartan, made in the 91st minute of the game. Jaime Pardo in the 95thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Christian Kerville, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Rick Souness managed to get in a good position for a shot. Elderslie Magpies's supporters rose to their feet, but Rick Souness was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jacobo Nores breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
