Dan Wennerqvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Milagros Fraga in the 13th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrián Espadas in the 17th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Luz Tejedor managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Luz Tejedor was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dan Wennerqvist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Julian Murillo in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dan Wennerqvist saved Soroca F.C. from getting behind. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adrián Espadas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 43 minutes had been played when some careless play by Peru's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gustavo Tartalo was slow to take the kick. During this time Soroca F.C.'s players had a chance to rest. Soroca F.C.'s Gustavo Tartalo was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Rolando Noboa in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Rolando Noboa made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Adrián Espadas sent off a good shot on target. Emmanuel Reyes hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Julian Murillo to make the kick off. Dan Wennerqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. In the 63rd minute Adrián Espadas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Soroca F.C. made a substitution. Răzvan Necula replaced Adrián Espadas. Gustavo Tartalo hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. 72 minutes into the game, Soroca F.C.'s Răzvan Necula nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rolando Noboa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. 75 minutes into the match, Soroca F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Mina came free, but Dan Wennerqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. 89 minutes into the match, Soroca F.C.'s goalkeeper Dan Wennerqvist had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Antonio Tenorio. After a rather tough play, Peru's Milagros Fraga got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Soroca F.C.'s Răzvan Necula got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 97 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Eliseo Alcocer. After a defensive mix-up in Peru's zone, Răzvan Necula stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rolando Noboa came out of the goal and Răzvan Necula tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Peru's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
