Belcho Hlebarov who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 22ndth minute tested the skills of Lautaro Navarro when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Anzhelo Gerushin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 28th minute of play. Anzhelo Gerushin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Belcho Hlebarov took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lautaro Navarro. After 42 played minutes ЦСКА got a freekick which was hit by Malin Sivchev. Anzhelo Gerushin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moises Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edmundo Espiga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christian Sancho in the 53rd minute of play forced ЦСКА's goalkeeper Anzhelo Gerushin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anzhelo Gerushin made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Edmundo Espiga sent off a good shot on target. In the 93rd minute, Ivelin Ananiev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Many of Honduras's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Honduras may have spent more time on the ball, but ЦСКА were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
