The Mexico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 28thth minute of the game Lautaro Mancebo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lautaro L.P.'s Salvador Ortega was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when Fulco Urra tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Lautaro L.P. getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Willem-Jan Van Hinnendael hit a great ball. After the first half Mexico were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joel Gaona stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice moves Lautaro Mancebo could shoot a difficult shot in the 56th minute, which Salvador Ortega however easily saved by the left post. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Luca Rouco hit a great ball. Joel Gaona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Salvador Ortega tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lautaro L.P.'s Damián Angulo was substituted for Reşit Beyan. Lautaro L.P. made a substitution. Heliodoro Jelves replaced Danilo Euloxu. With a little luck, Lautaro L.P.'s Salvador Ortega got control of the ball when Facundo Cadaval tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damián Angulo in the 86th minute of play.
