The Habsburgo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Honorato Aznaro should have stopped the shot. In the 30th match minute, Exército Português was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ian Van Den Driessche to maneuver through the defense. Honorato Aznaro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gergely Balázs in the 32nd minute of the match. Honorato Aznaro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gergely Balázs's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Habsburgo's zone, Bruno Soveral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Honorato Aznaro came out of the goal and Bruno Soveral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Willian Pay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ademar Borges kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Willian Pay made a kick off. A collision led to Exército Português getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Ian Van Den Driessche hit a great ball. Habsburgo's Honorato Aznaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruno Soveral in the 60th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Willian Pay in the 72nd minute of play forced Exército Português's goalkeeper Petruț Dicu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Petruț Dicu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Willian Pay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Exército Português made a substitution.
