Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 8th minute after Sagarana Clube's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Benedito Trigo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Éder Madureira in the 10th minute of the match. In the 13th minute, Beto Heidemann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Ecuador's Daniel Zorita in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sagarana Clube's goalie prevented a goal. In the 16th minute, Fábio da Cunha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 16 played minutes, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Benedito Trigo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ecuador reached it. 18 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benedito Trigo. Sagarana Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Sancho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Serafim Barros scored 1-1 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Sagarana Clube's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benedito Trigo came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benedito Trigo having to interfere. After 34 played minutes Sagarana Clube got a freekick which was hit by Fábio da Cunha. Benedito Trigo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 36th minute of play. After 37 minutes Sagarana Clube's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Benedito Trigo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Sagarana Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Roberto da Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Yu Yang Sang to strike the kick off in the second half. Benedito Trigo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 51st minute of play. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Sagarana Clube's Wilson Valladares got a free kick in the 55th minute. Sagarana Clube's Benedito Trigo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 55th minute of play. 58 minutes into the match, Sagarana Clube's Serafim Barros broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Serafim Barros kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benedito Trigo having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Antonio Arias got a free kick in the 71st minute. Sagarana Clube's Fabrício de Alcântara was substituted for Zé Roberto da Costa. In the 73rd minute, Antonio Arias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 85th minute, Wilson Valladares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benedito Trigo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 86th minute of the match. Yu Yang Sang blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
