Sergio Rochet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 19th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 21st minute of play forced The dogs's goalkeeper Sergio Rochet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sergio Rochet having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anacleto Gaizkine in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ryan Gray took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. The dogs's Fikri Tekinay was substituted for Anacleto Gaizkine.

Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Radoslaw Jerzyk in the 52nd minute of play. In the 56th minute, The dogs's Napoleon Basaik seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Napoleon Basaik the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of The dogs protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Napoleon Basaik had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch.
