Alfredo Tab scored 2-0 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcos Cotilla, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Josef Tunberg in the 29th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Mauricio Manuelo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Marcos Cotilla. The goal made the score 3-0. Panama's Marcos Cotilla proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Panama from getting a goal against them. In the 46th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dylan Sarmiento to maneuver through the defense. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

Talleres made a substitution. Sergiu Bulencea replaced Lukita Modrić. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Berganza to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Tab in the 57th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Martínez in the 62nd minute of play. Alfredo Tab sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Mauricio Manuelo came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Talleres fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mauricio Manuelo couldn't finish the play. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauricio Manuelo, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. After 89 minutes, Dylan Sarmiento mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Panama and the Talleres players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Talleres booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dylan Sarmiento didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Panama fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcos Cotilla should have stopped the shot. Talleres walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
