ZarA A.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Martín Palermo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Curacao's zone, Gavino Tabor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bruno Barrett came out of the goal and Gavino Tabor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Martín Palermo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hermelando Bustunzuria recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hermelando Bustunzuria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Barrett having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Charles Cox during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Charles Cox hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Bruno Barrett came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by ZarA A.C's Martín Palermo. But to his dismay, Martín Palermo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. If Sebastian Odol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 28th minute, Martín Palermo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ZarA A.C fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Bruno Barrett stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hermelando Bustunzuria's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. Curacao's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Martín Palermo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Bruno Barrett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martín Palermo, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. The Curacao fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bruno Barrett should have stopped the shot.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kyle Davies made a kick off. ZarA A.C's Sebastian Odol got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 56th minute Martín Palermo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Barrett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hermelando Bustunzuria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bruno Barrett took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martín Palermo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 61st match minute, ZarA A.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gavino Tabor to maneuver through the defense. In the 63rd minute, Harvey Doyle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Curacao's Bruno Barrett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martín Palermo in the 69th minute of play. ZarA A.C's Hermelando Bustunzuria got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 71st minute, Charles Cox hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gavino Tabor struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Bruno Barrett didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ZarA A.C. 74 minutes into the match, Martín Palermo notched a goal, 9-0, to the right of Curacao's Bruno Barrett. Bruno Barrett was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, Martín Palermo put it in 10-0 from a short distance just to the right of Bruno Barrett. 81 minutes into the game, Hermelando Bustunzuria cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 11-0. Bruno Barrett was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to ZarA A.C getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Sebastian Odol hit a great ball. Curacao's Bruno Barrett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martín Palermo in the 87th minute of play. Hermelando Bustunzuria scored 12-0 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bruno Barrett, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Bruno Barrett came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by ZarA A.C's Martín Palermo. But to his dismay, Martín Palermo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 13-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Martín Palermo managed to get in a good position for a shot. ZarA A.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Martín Palermo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bruno Barrett breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Curacao defense, Martín Palermo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bruno Barrett. The Curacao fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bruno Barrett should have stopped the shot. There was no doubt that ZarA A.C were the better team. ZarA A.C's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
