When Uriel Sesuldo fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Terremoto FC's protests and gave Uriel Sesuldo a yellow card for diving instead. Kenneth Libesoons breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Primitivo Andino's late challenge caught a Terremoto FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Primitivo Andino helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Terremoto FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Primitivo Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Terremoto FC's Jeremias Macedo was substituted for Shi Ming. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Primitivo Andino got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeremias Macedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jeremias Macedo struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Terremoto FC.
