In the 19th minute, Compostela FSCMZ's Pedro Tasso seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Pedro Tasso the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Compostela FSCMZ protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Pedro Tasso had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Pedro Tasso hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Wilfredo Madaleno managed to get in a good position for a shot. Konurbano Atletico's supporters rose to their feet, but Wilfredo Madaleno was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Fernando Baiano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 22 minutes into the match, Nereo Rocio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luiz Fernando Baiano. Compostela FSCMZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nereo Rocio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 25th minute, Jacobo Perfecto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luiz Fernando Baiano was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. 32 minutes into the match, Compostela FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Ermegildo Weather came free, but Luiz Fernando Baiano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Konurbano Atletico's Alejandro Domingues played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oswaldo Cabral in the 33rd minute of play. The supporters of Compostela FSCMZ booed when Konurbano Atletico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rolando Natal didn't get a good kick on the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Oswaldo Cabral made a kick off. Luiz Fernando Baiano was a little too slow when Laureano Ponc got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 56th minute. The score was now 0-3. In the 60th minute Laureano Ponc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Fernando Baiano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 68th minute, César Correia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luiz Fernando Baiano was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Wilfredo Madaleno. With a little luck, Compostela FSCMZ's Luiz Fernando Baiano got control of the ball when Nereo Rocio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Oswaldo Cabral blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alejandro Domingues having to make a save. Luiz Fernando Baiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laureano Ponc, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Wilfredo Madaleno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nereo Rocio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Luiz Fernando Baiano made a huge save. Luiz Fernando Baiano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ermegildo Weather, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alejandro Domingues made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Belmiro Nunes in the 89th minute of play. When the match was over Konurbano Atletico could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Compostela FSCMZ throughout the match.
