Gordon Horgan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 17th minute of play. In the 22ndth minute of the game Tahsin Atacan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 23 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Olgun Oktay. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Francisco Seco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Uruguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Francisco Seco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gordon Horgan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Maximiliano Escribano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Gordon Horgan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Brion Murphy who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 30thth minute tested the skills of Joaquin Gayoso when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Olgun Oktay put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. Uruguay's defense didn't have a chance, in the 39th minute, when Tahsin Atacan scored to the left of an out of position Joaquin Gayoso, making the score, 5-0. In the 42nd minute, COPERNICUS TORUŃ's Olgun Oktay ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Joaquin Gayoso. Joaquin Gayoso yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 6-0. After a defensive mix-up in Uruguay's zone, Tahsin Atacan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal and Tahsin Atacan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Olgun Oktays short, quick shot in the 46thth minute got Joaquin Gayoso to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Af the end of the first half the score was 6-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tahsin Atacan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. COPERNICUS TORUŃ's Gordon Horgan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 59th minute of play. Olgun Oktay scored 7-0 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joaquin Gayoso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match had gone on for 66 minutes, Olgun Oktay put it in 8-0 from a short distance just to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. The audience thought a goal was coming when Francisco Seco got free with Gordon Horgan in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 77th minute, Francisco Seco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Joaquin Gayoso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gordon Horgan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 89th minute of play. Gordon Horgan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute.
