A very good chance. 13 minutes into the match, Manly FC's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Tasis came free, but Case Tisdell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Axel Tasis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Case Tisdell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Lautaro Puig managed to get in a good position for a shot. Costa Rica's supporters rose to their feet, but Lautaro Puig was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Case Tisdell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Manly FC's attentive Munroe Brien managed to snatch the ball when Abel Carballo made a throw-in in the 25th minute of the game. The throw-in from Hugo Ferrant in the 30th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Manly FC's Stan Peplow. Axel Tasis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Case Tisdell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 34 minutes into the game, Costa Rica's Axel Tasis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Case Tisdell made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Lautaro Puig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. The referee ignored Manly FC's protests and gave Stan Peplow a yellow card for diving instead. In the 43rd minute, Stan Peplow hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Case Tisdell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Puig, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Neale Franklin was the one to do the kick off. Manly FC's attentive Kent Barling managed to snatch the ball when Efrain Moruga made a throw-in in the 55th minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Eliseo Noboa took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Case Tisdell to make any attempt to save it. When Juan Rubio fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Juan Rubio a yellow card for diving instead. Hugo Ferrant made in the 66th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Manly FC's Stan Peplow. Efrain Moruga made in the 67th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Eliseo Noboa however managed to control. 69 minutes into the game, Eliseo Noboa threw the ball into play from the sideline. Manly FC's Munroe Brien quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After a rather tough play, Manly FC's Stan Peplow got a free kick in the 72nd minute. A collision led to Manly FC getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Stan Peplow hit a great ball. Eliseo Noboa struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Case Tisdell didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Costa Rica. Manly FC's Munroe Brien quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Eliseo Noboa, made in the 79th minute of the game. 81 minutes into the game, Hugo Ferrant was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Manly FC the free kick. Calvin Vaughan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eliseo Noboa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Case Tisdell read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play.
