Mariano Lacasa scored 0-1 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cristiano Aveiro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 8 minutes of play, Chile's Mariano Lacasa made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cristiano Aveiro was left in no man's land by his defense there! Nacional's Grabiel Escorcia got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Grabiel Escorcia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 25 minutes into the match, Nacional's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Cristiano Aveiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mariano Lacasa in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cristiano Aveiro saved Nacional from getting behind. Chile's Thiago Pliego proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Chile from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Nacional getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Damiano Fioravanti hit a great ball. It was beautiful to see Chile's Mariano Lacasa in action when he in the 48th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance!

The supporters of Chile booed when Nacional was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Walter Geromel didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Grabiel Escorcia in the 58th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 60 minutes into the match, Mariano Lacasa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cristiano Aveiro. Nacional's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mariano Lacasa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Grabiel Escorcia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Thiago Pliego having to make a save. Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Grabiel Escorcia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Grabiel Escorcia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Thiago Pliego read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. 72 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Grabiel Escorcia came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 73 minutes, Damiano Fioravanti mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nacional and the Chile players grew even worse after the yellow card. Damiano Fioravanti hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Nacional made a substitution. Ranolfo Piedrahita replaced Joseph Gayoso. A collision led to Nacional getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Damiano Fioravanti hit a great ball. José Luis Rodríguez hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Thiago Pliego stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Grabiel Escorcia's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. A collision led to Chile getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Alan Tamayo hit a great ball. In the 84th minute of the match Nacional got a corner. Chile's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Xu Sha ran over to the corner to take the kick. Xu Sha made a great header on Nacional's corner, it was just that Chile's Thiago Pliego managed to reach the ball for a save. Mariano Lacasa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Cristiano Aveiro made a huge save. Orlando Casaus struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Cristiano Aveiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chile.
