BANDOLEIROS osasco's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ziemowit Haskiewicz in the 15th minute. The corner led BANDOLEIROS osasco's Cresenciano Camino to fire away a dangerous shot which Pedro Manzanares despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 17th minute, Yusuf Ziya Altınkaya got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 22nd minute Axel Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl Pilgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After taking down the ball on BANDOLEIROS osasco's corner Ziemowit Haskiewicz fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Pedro Manzanares quite easily take care of the ball. If Billy Sandström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Karl Pilgren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santino Seco in the 37th minute of the match. Karl Pilgren dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. 47 minutes into the match, Colombia's Kevin Mastache sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Karl Pilgren narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 47th match minute, BANDOLEIROS osasco was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Beto Toledo to maneuver through the defense. After 49 played minutes BANDOLEIROS osasco got a freekick which was hit by Beto Toledo. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After some careless play in the Colombia defense, Peter Paul Crouch kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Manzanares. The Colombia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Manzanares should have stopped the shot. Pascual Carballar might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Karl Pilgren. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pascual Carballar ran back to his position shaking his head. Abram Secada's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Karl Pilgren read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peter Paul Crouch, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
