Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edmundo Espiga in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sixten Ek prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 23 minutes into the game, Karl-Johan Sundén cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Lautaro Navarro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Hammarby IF's Sixten Ek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 26th minute of play. After having played for 29 minutes, Moises Tafalla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Moises Tafalla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edmundo Espiga received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Sixten Ek came out and tried to block the shot, but Edmundo Espiga slotted it home off the left post making it 6-2 in the 89th minute. When Edmundo Espiga came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Honduras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmundo Espiga couldn't finish the play. Hammarby IF's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
