When Jenipapo SC's Aníbal Alagoano in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Julio Vera as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 21st minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Seaman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 24thth minute of the game Aníbal Alagoano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 26 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. David Seaman was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Zorita in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck David Seaman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 33 minutes into the match, Jenipapo SC's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Montenegro came free, but David Seaman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. David Seaman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. David Seaman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Aníbal Alagoano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. Aníbal Alagoano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. David Seaman stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. The Jenipapo SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that David Seaman should have stopped the shot. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Daniel Zorita's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 56thth minute, David Seaman skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raphael Cunha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ecuador's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 94th minute, which David Seaman however easily saved by the left post. 96 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. David Seaman was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Jenipapo SC throughout the match.
