A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Tomas Illescas hit a great ball. 40 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by István Juhász.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. Gyál United's Sándor Jászberényi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Gyál United from getting a goal against them. In the 53rd minute, Gyál United's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Patricio Costa fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Róbert Vajda kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rigoberto Mina during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 72nd minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Venezuela's Patricio Costa managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Ferdinánd Nagy in the 88 minute of the game. The Venezuela players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
