Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Horaţiu Petran read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. Tito Montaño kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Walmir Breckenfeld got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 18th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guillermo Mariano to maneuver through the defense. In the 19th minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kemal Davarcı in the 21st minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walmir Breckenfeld in the 21st minute of the match. Venezuela's defense didn't have a chance, in the 23rd minute, when Kemal Davarcı scored to the left of an out of position Jonathan Ferrant, making the score, 1-0. Horaţiu Petran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patricio Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28th minute of the match, Walmir Breckenfeld got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jonathan Ferrant was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Erwin Bienvenu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Horaţiu Petran didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. Walmir Breckenfeld fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. 45 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Kemal Davarcı came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Erwin Bienvenu sent off a good shot on target. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. After 58 minutes, Camilo Gaos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the Gyál United players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 58th minute, Camilo Gaos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Walmir Breckenfeld's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Konstantinos Kroustallis in the 78th minute of play. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
