Hernan Lano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. The supporters of Peru booed when Soroca F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gustavo Tartalo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dan Wennerqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dan Wennerqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Mina in the 21st minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adrián Espadas in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rolando Noboa saved Peru from getting behind. 28 minutes into the game, Peru's Julian Murillo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dan Wennerqvist made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. 30 minutes into the match, Milagros Fraga had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dan Wennerqvist. Soroca F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Milagros Fraga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Dan Wennerqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 38th minute of play. Soroca F.C.'s Dan Wennerqvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 43rd minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julian Murillo was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emmanuel Reyes to maneuver through the defense. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adrián Espadas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 57 minutes, Adrián Espadas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Soroca F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Adrián Espadas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Soroca F.C. made a substitution. Godofredo Quilino replaced Gustavo Tartalo. Dan Wennerqvist made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julian Murillo in the 62nd minute. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Răzvan Necula, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. A collision led to Soroca F.C. getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Cássio Zonta hit a great ball. Eliseo Mina took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 69th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dan Wennerqvist. Soroca F.C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Peru's attentive Eliseo Mina managed to snatch the ball when Cyprien Combaz made a throw-in in the 73rd minute of the game. Julian Murillo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Peru's Julian Murillo in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Soroca F.C.'s goalie prevented a goal. Peru's Alonso Berganza managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Cyprien Combaz in the 82 minute of the game. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Răzvan Necula in the 87th minute of play. In the 90th minute Rafael Gallo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dan Wennerqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 91 minutes into the game, Soroca F.C.'s Răzvan Necula nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rolando Noboa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Răzvan Necula blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rolando Noboa having to make a save. In the 95th minute Răzvan Necula shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peru were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
