The audience was convinced that Dante Grenier's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Noel Seide was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. Ernso Constant hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 10 minutes, Brett Hull put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Noel Seide. In the 13th minute, Brett Hull hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 14th match minute, Haiti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodney Emmanuel to maneuver through the defense. Dante Grenier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Noel Seide tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of AFC Richmond booed when Haiti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Alphonse didn't get a good kick on the ball. Noel Seide took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rashad Stern, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th minute, Brett Hull fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Noel Seide, passed just outside the right post. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jonathan Alphonse to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Haiti's goal looked a bit too open when Rashad Stern came free, but Noel Seide reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Dante Grenier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 60 minutes into the match, Brett Hull had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Noel Seide. Haiti's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Brett Hull was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Noel Seide stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dante Grenier's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. 76 minutes into the match, Haiti's goal looked a bit too open when Brett Hull came free, but Noel Seide reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aubrey Parson charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aubrey Parson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brett Hull couldn't finish the play. 83 minutes into the game, AFC Richmond's Nicholas Nadeau nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Noel Seide made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. AFC Richmond fully deserved thier win.
