Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Enrique Enoch read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. Enrique Enoch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 13th minute of the match. A throw-in in the 23rd minute of the game was made by Adelino Nordon with Cecilio Magalhaes as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Peru's Rolando Noboa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Peru from getting a goal against them. When Peru's Julian Murillo in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye union española s.a.'s goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, union española s.a.'s Adelino Nordon got a free kick in the 37th minute. Ubaldo Mannhardt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rolando Noboa having to make a save. Ubaldo Mannhardt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Noboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Rolando Noboa came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by union española s.a.'s Ubaldo Mannhardt. But to his dismay, Ubaldo Mannhardt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 42nd minute, Milagros Fraga left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Peru fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Peru's Eliseo Mina got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Julian Murillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enrique Enoch having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Julian Murillo to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, union española s.a.'s goalkeeper Enrique Enoch had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julian Murillo. union española s.a. were awarded a corner in the 59th minute after Peru's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Victoriano Arana took the corner. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stig Malmgren in the 61st minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aristeo Potts hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Peru defense, Cecilio Magalhaes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rolando Noboa. The Peru fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolando Noboa should have stopped the shot. 81 minutes into the game, Eliseo Mina recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Enrique Enoch. Eliseo Mina showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-2. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. A collision led to union española s.a. getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Cecilio Magalhaes hit a great ball. In the 93rd minute Peru were awarded a corner. Eliseo Mina went to the cornerflag to take it. Milagros Fraga was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Enrique Enoch made an important save on a dangerous shot by Milagros Fraga in the 93rd minute. Joaquin Prats's late challenge caught a union española s.a.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
