Demonde Jacobson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. In the 11th minute, Academia Santista CIMZ's Felipe Nerio ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Demonde Jacobson. Demonde Jacobson yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. When Francisco Lopez fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Academia Santista CIMZ's protests and gave Francisco Lopez a yellow card for diving instead. Francisco Lopez hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Demonde Jacobson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felipe Nerio in the 21st minute of the match. The supporters of Academia Santista CIMZ booed when Jamaica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romon Oliver didn't get a good kick on the ball. Felipe Nerio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Demonde Jacobson made a huge save. In the 41st minute Academia Santista CIMZ were awarded a corner. Francisco Lopez went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Francisco Lopez got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Demonde Jacobson quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 44th minute of the match, Felipe Nerio tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Demonde Jacobson saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Karlus Waugh struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Gu Zhan Wei didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jamaica. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Finlay Stair to make the kick off.
