Ricardo Zorita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Unai Calatayud in the 6th minute of play. 9 minutes into the game, Mateo Leguizamo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. El Salvador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atlético Ourense the free kick. Mateo Leguizamo kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. When Atlético Ourense's Unai Calatayud in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye El Salvador's goalie prevented a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Unai Calatayud got free with Ricardo Zorita in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 24 minutes into the game, Unai Calatayud recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ricardo Zorita. Unai Calatayud showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. 27 minutes into the match, Unai Calatayud had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ricardo Zorita. El Salvador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Unai Calatayud was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. If Unai Calatayud had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ricardo Zorita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Unai Calatayud, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Unai Calatayud managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Ourense's supporters rose to their feet, but Unai Calatayud was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricardo Zorita breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Unai Calatayud scored 3-0 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ricardo Zorita, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ricardo Zorita made an important save on a dangerous shot by Unai Calatayud in the 42nd minute. After 43 minutes El Salvador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Herberto Palacios who took care of the corner kick. Atlético Ourense's Herberto Palacios was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ricardo Zorita in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Unai Calatayud in the 46th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

A sloppy throw-in by Jorge Magrina in the 51st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Atlético Ourense's Indartsu Sarro. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 56th minute, Jorge Magrina ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jerrold Valcarcel was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. In the 59th minute, Unai Calatayud made a precise shot to the right of Ricardo Zorita. El Salvador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-1. In the 62nd minute, Unai Calatayud left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Atlético Ourense fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-1. 68 minutes had been played when some careless play by El Salvador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Herberto Palacios was slow to take the kick. During this time Atlético Ourense's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Herberto Palacios got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ricardo Zorita quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Tartalo Rajoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Ricardo Zorita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 71 minutes into the game, Tartalo Rajoi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-1. Ricardo Zorita was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 74 minutes into the game, Atlético Ourense's Tartalo Rajoi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ricardo Zorita made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-1. When Tartalo Rajoi came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Atlético Ourense fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tartalo Rajoi couldn't finish the play. Tartalo Rajoi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Tartalo Rajoi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ricardo Zorita was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. Marcos Odín hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. After 88 played minutes, El Salvador's Mateo Leguizamo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jerrold Valcarcel came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in El Salvador reached it. There was no doubt that Atlético Ourense were the better team. Atlético Ourense's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
