Adriano Pappalardo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 25th minute of play. chacarita juniors's Adriano Pappalardo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 26th minute of play. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adriano Pappalardo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Arkhip Ilyin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arkhip Ilyin in the 34th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patricio Costa in the 36th minute of play forced chacarita juniors's goalkeeper Adriano Pappalardo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Deng Wei Lin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Despite this Adriano Pappalardo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arkhip Ilyin to strike the kick off in the second half. chacarita juniors's Arkhip Ilyin got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Patricio Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. 61 minutes into the game, Rigoberto Mina was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave chacarita juniors the free kick.
