Bertie Johnson kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. With his leg Bruno Barrett managed to avoid a goal in the 16thth minute, when Universidad de Chile's Hernán Pablo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Hernán Pablo came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Universidad de Chile fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hernán Pablo couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Universidad de Chile's Disvandis Borja got a free kick in the 29th minute. When Curacao's Stanley Wallace in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Universidad de Chile's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kyle Davies in the 34th minute of play forced Universidad de Chile's goalkeeper Juan Estevan Gerbella to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Juan Estevan Gerbella made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kyle Davies in the 44th minute of play. In the 47th minute, Hernán Pablo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bruno Barrett was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Juan Ferreccio was the one to do the kick off. Rocco Owen's late challenge caught a Universidad de Chile's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rocco Owen helped the player get up and apologised. After 54 played minutes Curacao got a freekick which was hit by Rocco Owen. Disvandis Borja hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kyle Davies in the 64th minute of play forced Universidad de Chile's goalkeeper Juan Estevan Gerbella to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stanley Wallace received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Juan Estevan Gerbella tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Valdivia kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. The supporters of Universidad de Chile booed when Curacao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lochlan Newman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bruno Barrett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juan Ferreccio in the 69th minute of the match. In the 72nd minute Hernán Pablo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Barrett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 79 minutes into the match, Hernán Pablo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bruno Barrett. Curacao's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hernán Pablo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Bruno Barrett made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Disvandis Borja in the 89th minute of play. Hernán Pablo took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bruno Barrett. Bruno Barrett dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0.
