Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Edmundo Espiga got the match started through his kick off. A collision led to Honduras getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Edmundo Espiga hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nicolas Roland got free with Lautaro Navarro in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 8 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Sebastian Villa. Cristian Naike recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Honduras's Lautaro Navarro got control of the ball when Donato Efraim tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Vélez Juniors's Donato Efraim got a free kick in the 12th minute. Nicolas Roland in the 17thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Lautaro Navarro, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The throw-in from Alberto Joey in the 21st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Honduras's Luca Espinar. After 28 played minutes, Vélez Juniors's Donato Efraim shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Vélez Juniors reached it. If Nicolas Roland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nicolas Rolands short, quick shot in the 35thth minute got Lautaro Navarro to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 43rd minute Moises Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elpidio Vitin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Honduras's Esteban Carvallo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Alberto Joey, made in the 44th minute of the game. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolas Roland in the 51st minute of play. Benicio Rivas scored 2-0 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lautaro Navarro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Vélez Juniors's Elpidio Vitin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 59th minute of play.
