Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Paulino Maltez kicked off to start the match. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by Sporting Clube de Gaya's Lucílio Figueiras. But to his dismay, Lucílio Figueiras quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Moises Fernandino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Renato Vargas having to interfere. Moises Fernandino took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Renato Vargas. Renato Vargas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Ricardo Zorita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulino Maltez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lucílio Figueiras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Luis Figo fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sporting Clube de Gaya's protests and gave Luis Figo a yellow card for diving instead. After 37 minutes, Eurico lago mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sporting Clube de Gaya and the El Salvador players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 37th match minute, Sporting Clube de Gaya was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eurico lago to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Moises Fernandino might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Renato Vargas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Moises Fernandino ran back to his position shaking his head. Ricardo Zorita didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Paulino Maltez went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. 60 minutes into the game, Sporting Clube de Gaya's Paulino Maltez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ricardo Zorita made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. Abram Luque fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Renato Vargas having to interfere. After 67 minutes, Luis Rubio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the El Salvador and the Sporting Clube de Gaya players grew even worse after the yellow card. 68 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goal looked a bit too open when Paulino Maltez came free, but Ricardo Zorita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 69th minute, Marco Tamayo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. El Salvador's Lorenzo Yepes managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Eurico lago in the 72 minute of the game. Ricardo Zorita stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Paulino Maltez's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. Luis Figo took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ricardo Zorita. Ricardo Zorita dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-1. After 83 minutes of play, Sporting Clube de Gaya's Lucílio Figueiras made it 7-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ricardo Zorita was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 88th minute Fredy Montero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Zorita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 90thth minute of the game Paulino Maltez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the El Salvador defense, Paulino Maltez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricardo Zorita. The El Salvador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricardo Zorita should have stopped the shot. Sporting Clube de Gaya walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
