The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Abel Neron showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The crowd rose to their feet as Daniel Zorita kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Abel Neron. That made the score 0-4 in the 77 minute of play. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Abel Neron read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. 93 minutes into the match, Deportivo Balvanera's goalkeeper Abel Neron had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felix Montenegro. Daniel Zoritas short, quick shot in the 94thth minute got Abel Neron to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The Deportivo Balvanera fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
