Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anacleto Soin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guido Carrillo in the 37th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 39 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gaston Fernández. 42 minutes into the match, Anacleto Soin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dante Lacasa. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Joel Gaona made the kick off in the second half. When Guido Carrillo fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored 【E ➣ Don Bosco Cosquín's protests and gave Guido Carrillo a yellow card for diving instead. Guido Carrillo kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match.
