Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Varban Pavlikyanov, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. In the 5th minute, Axel Tasis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aníbal Sá in the 7th minute of play. Benito Sanz was out of position in the 10 minute of play, and Aníbal Sá capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Aníbal Sá really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Varban Pavlikyanov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. The supporters of Clube Atl. Taquaritinga booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aaron Alcocer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Varban Pavlikyanov in the 16th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aníbal Sá in the 17th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 19th minute, Aníbal Sá left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Clube Atl. Taquaritinga fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's David Lima got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Varban Pavlikyanov in the 28th minute of the match. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aníbal Sá, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 31st minute of the match, Aníbal Sá tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Benito Sanz saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 33rd minute, Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Aníbal Sá ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. In the 37th minute, Aníbal Sá left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Clube Atl. Taquaritinga fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Aníbal Sá hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. In the 41st minute, Aaron Alcocer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 43rd match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Rubio to maneuver through the defense. 45 minutes in the game Philippe Alcântara got a great opportunity which he missed by shooting outside the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After a rather tough play, Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Arthur Queraria got a free kick in the 52nd minute. 53 minutes into the match, Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Noboa came free, but Haroldo Dante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aníbal Sá in the 55th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 56th minute, Lautaro Puig got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aníbal Sá took the ball and in the 59 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. In the 61st minute, Aníbal Sá made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. 69 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Breno Loyola came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Breno Loyola received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Breno Loyola in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Costa Rica's goalie prevented a goal. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga made a substitution. Leonel Messi replaced David Lima. If Lautaro Puig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Breno Loyola in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aníbal Sá in the 89th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Breno Loyola in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Eliseo Noboa came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Costa Rica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eliseo Noboa couldn't finish the play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga fully deserved thier win.
