In the 5th minute Peru were awarded a corner. Luz Tejedor went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Peru's Eliseo Mina to fire away a dangerous shot which Ivan Chiuzbaian despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 15th minute Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- were awarded a corner. Petre Iftode went to the cornerflag to take it. Through an outstanding action, after 18 minutes, Rolando Noboa successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 23 minutes into the match, Eliseo Mina had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ivan Chiuzbaian. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eliseo Mina was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Ivan Chiuzbaian showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Ivan Chiuzbaian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 37th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Chiuzbaian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Petre Iftode in the 39th minute of play. Ivan Chiuzbaian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 45th minute of play. Peru's attentive Eliseo Mina managed to snatch the ball when Grigore Maghiran made a throw-in in the 46th minute of the game. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Julian Murillo made the kick off in the second half. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emil Wielopolski in the 52nd minute of play. In the 54th minute, Eliseo Mina got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rolando Noboa came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Zhao Sen Yang. But to his dismay, Zhao Sen Yang quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Ivan Chiuzbaian proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- from getting a goal against them. 63 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Zhao Sen Yang came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 66 minutes into the game, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Zhao Sen Yang nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rolando Noboa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Primitivo Grau, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Ivan Chiuzbaian got control of the ball when Julian Murillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ivan Chiuzbaian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luz Tejedor in the 78th minute of play. After 84 minutes of play, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Emil Wielopolski made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rolando Noboa was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 88th minute Emil Wielopolski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Eliseo Mina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dacian Tilea hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. When the referee blew the final whistle, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- could leave the field as winners, despite Peru having more of the ball for most of the match.
