Adilson Cordeiro hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. After 5 played minutes, Tiburones Rojos's Saul Sugar shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Caio Penha came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Tiburones Rojos reached it. Lon Lanteigne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fanis Bakosis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lon Lanteigne in the 9th minute of play. Durval Meireles took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fanis Bakosis. Fanis Bakosis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. When Teofilo Venceslao fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tiburones Rojos's protests and gave Teofilo Venceslao a yellow card for diving instead. Fanis Bakosis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lon Lanteigne, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. After some careless play in the Tiburones Rojos defense, Durval Meireles kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fanis Bakosis. The Tiburones Rojos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fanis Bakosis should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Chico Rodrigues during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Tiburones Rojos's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mame Picka ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led BRASIL.Sp's Chico Rodrigues to fire away a dangerous shot which Fanis Bakosis despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lon Lanteigne in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fanis Bakosis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Teodosio Lain stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 77th minute, one of Tiburones Rojos:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Tiburones Rojos. Fanis Bakosis had in the 79thth minute some difficulties stopping Luís Guilherme Vasconcelos's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After some careless play in the Tiburones Rojos defense, Luís Guilherme Vasconcelos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fanis Bakosis. The Tiburones Rojos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fanis Bakosis should have stopped the shot.
