With a little luck, FC Urzicuța's Sandu Vlaicu got control of the ball when Zico Zellier tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nery Pumpido made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kulabhusana Karabashlykov in the 8th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thierry Henry in the 9th minute of play forced FC Urzicuța's goalkeeper Sandu Vlaicu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nery Pumpido didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from İrfan Attar went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Nery Pumpido showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from İrfan Attar in the 16th minute of the match. 17 minutes into the match, GuateFortín's goal looked a bit too open when İrfan Attar came free, but Nery Pumpido reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by İrfan Attar in the 19th minute of play forced GuateFortín's goalkeeper Nery Pumpido to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 21 minutes into the game, İrfan Attar cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Nery Pumpido was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Nery Pumpido made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aurel Beldeanu in the 24th minute of play. The supporters of FC Urzicuța booed when GuateFortín was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zico Zellier didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute İrfan Attar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nery Pumpido saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, GuateFortín's Angel Alvarenga got a free kick in the 26th minute. GuateFortín's Nery Pumpido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by İrfan Attar in the 28th minute of play. After some careless play in the GuateFortín defense, İrfan Attar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nery Pumpido. The GuateFortín fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nery Pumpido should have stopped the shot. Heriberto Correa hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Nery Pumpido made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kulabhusana Karabashlykov in the 36th minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, GuateFortín's goal looked a bit too open when İrfan Attar came free, but Nery Pumpido reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 47th minute Zico Zellier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandu Vlaicu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

FC Urzicuța's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cristi Chivu in the 54th minute. A nice corner shot did that Cristi Chivu got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Nery Pumpido quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Through an outstanding action, after 58 minutes, Nery Pumpido successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 60 minutes of play, FC Urzicuța's İrfan Attar made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nery Pumpido was left in no man's land by his defense there! GuateFortín's Mario Gomez was substituted for Stanyo Búnkov. GuateFortín's Pablo Mora was substituted for Heriberto Correa. Nery Pumpido showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from İrfan Attar, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. FC Urzicuța's Senne Rondou quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. When Senne Rondou came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the FC Urzicuța fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Senne Rondou couldn't finish the play. 93 minutes into the match, GuateFortín's goal looked a bit too open when Sorin Bârlă came free, but Nery Pumpido reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
