The audience thought a goal was coming when Sergio Saturno got free with Pedro Manzanares in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Monterrey ante el Mundo⛥ getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Blas Frances hit a great ball. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Colombia from getting a goal against them. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abram Sarmiento to make the kick off. Axel Montenegros short, quick shot in the 58thth minute got Nicasio Abad to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 60thth minute of the game Axel Montenegro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Monterrey ante el Mundo⛥'s Nicasio Abad was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 63 minutes into the match, Pietro Salles had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pedro Manzanares. Colombia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pietro Salles was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. If Axel Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Abram Sarmiento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicasio Abad having to interfere. If Ignacio Mastache had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 75th minute, Ignacio Mastache left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Colombia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. 78 minutes into the match, Colombia's Ignacio Mastache sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nicasio Abad narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peter Blomkvist in the 83rd minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Despite this Nicasio Abad quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
