The supporters of Mexico booed when Here Comes the Hammer was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tord Spetz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Charles Björkqvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 17th minute of the match. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Luca Zorita hit a great ball. If John Eriksson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valdir Velloso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdir Velloso in the 23rd minute of play. Charles Björkqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Charles Björkqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 36th minute of play. In the 37th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. Here Comes the Hammer's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. 45 minutes into the game, Edmund Hansson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Here Comes the Hammer's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mexico the free kick. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for John Eriksson to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Here Comes the Hammer booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lautaro Mancebo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leonardo Leoz hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Murilo Maranhense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Lacasa having to interfere. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Charles Björkqvist made a huge save. Facundo Cadaval was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 67th minute. Mexico's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdir Velloso in the 69th minute of the match. In the 70th minute, Tord Spetz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With his leg Charles Björkqvist managed to avoid a goal in the 74thth minute, when Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Joel Gaona scored 0-2 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Charles Björkqvist, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Here Comes the Hammer made a substitution. Carlinhos Félix replaced Valdir Velloso. Emil Paulin was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 81 minutes into the match. In the 80th minute, one of Here Comes the Hammer:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Here Comes the Hammer. Charles Björkqvist made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 86th minute. Murilo Maranhense struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Dante Lacasa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Here Comes the Hammer. Charles Björkqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Charles Björkqvist didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Joel Gaona went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. In the 97th minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Charles Björkqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Here Comes the Hammer fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Mexico were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
