The crowd rose to their feet as Charles Vestlund kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Julio Vera. That made the score 1-0 in the 8 minute of play. Richard Finman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 17 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of BK Falcon's Yassine Bounou. Yassine Bounou was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Hubert Kvist made a great header on BK Falcon's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play.
