In the 3rd minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristo Elivareo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Efrain Blai's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Efrain Blai helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Barrialito AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Efrain Blai didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 7 minutes of play, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cristo Elivareo was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 9th minute of play forced Barrialito AFC's goalkeeper Cristo Elivareo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 12th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristo Elivareo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Ecuador fans' excitement grew in the 14th match minute when Ecuador's Daniel Zorita looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Cristo Elivareo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julian Torres kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. 21 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cristo Elivareo. Barrialito AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Sancho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. In the 27th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristo Elivareo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 28 minutes Barrialito AFC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. In the 30th minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Cristo Elivareo. Barrialito AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. Cristo Elivareo came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Felix Montenegro. But to his dismay, Felix Montenegro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 43rd minute of play forced Barrialito AFC's goalkeeper Cristo Elivareo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita scored 0-7 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cristo Elivareo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-7 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. Felix Montenegro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Cristo Elivareo made a huge save. After 60 minutes, Hernan Socorro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Barrialito AFC and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Barrialito AFC's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristo Elivareo came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Jacinto Raitin fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Barrialito AFC's protests and gave Jacinto Raitin a yellow card for diving instead. Cristo Elivareo was out of position in the 87 minute of play, and Daniel Zorita capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Daniel Zorita really showed his touch with that goal: 0-12. 91 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cristo Elivareo. Barrialito AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-13. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
