Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Costa Rica's Axel Tasis started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Eliseo Noboa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabi Gol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 11th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Axel Tasis to maneuver through the defense. In the 13th minute Gabi Gol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 19th minute, Alan Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Dagoberto Guimarães stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Dagoberto Guimarães tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 22 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tiago Cordeiro. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dagoberto Guimarães in the 30th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lautaro Puig's late challenge caught a Goianésia E.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lautaro Puig helped the player get up and apologised. In the 31st minute, Lautaro Puig hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Tiago Cordeiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gabi Gol made a great header on Goianésia E.C's corner, it was just that Costa Rica's Benito Sanz managed to reach the ball for a save. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Gabi Gol sent off a good shot on target. Gabi Gol in the 37thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Benito Sanz, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The supporters of Goianésia E.C booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseo Noboa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dagoberto Guimarães, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gabi Gol was the one to do the kick off. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabi Gol in the 52nd minute of play. When Gabi Gol came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Goianésia E.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gabi Gol couldn't finish the play. Tiago Cordeiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dagoberto Guimarães, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. 77 minutes into the game, Tomasz Poniewaz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Goianésia E.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Costa Rica the free kick. Tomasz Poniewaz kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. 81 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Tiago Cordeiro came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 83rd minute, Gabi Gol left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Goianésia E.C fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. After 91 minutes of play, Goianésia E.C's Tiago Cordeiro made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Juan Rubio hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Goianésia E.C fully deserved thier win.
