The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Elpidio Vitin showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gasteiz Latorre in the 6th minute of play forced Vélez Juniors's goalkeeper Elpidio Vitin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 7 minutes had been played when some careless play by Vélez Juniors's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gasteiz Latorre was slow to take the kick. During this time Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's players had a chance to rest. 10 minutes into the match, Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Naike came free, but Jeremy Avellana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 13 minutes Vélez Juniors's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gasteiz Latorre who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's corner Gasteiz Latorre fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Elpidio Vitin quite easily take care of the ball. Jeremy Avellana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicolas Roland, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. 16 minutes had been played when some careless play by Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Guido Luzaide was slow to take the kick. During this time Vélez Juniors's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Nicolas Roland managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Jeremy Avellana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicolas Roland in the 18th minute of play. Guto Pirani hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. In the 20th minute Cristian Naike shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremy Avellana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Gasteiz Latorre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vélez Juniors's goalkeeper Elpidio Vitin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jeremy Avellana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Naike in the 31st minute of the match. Cristian Naike scored 0-1 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jeremy Avellana, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jeremy Avellana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Naike, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. After 44 played minutes Club Dep. Soc. Rodo got a freekick which was hit by Deunoro Barbadillo.

Rodo's Gasteiz Latorre got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bernardo Sayvion got free with Jeremy Avellana in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Elpidio Vitin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anthon Öberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vélez Juniors's Elpidio Vitin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gasteiz Latorre in the 79th minute of play. In the 81st minute Anthon Öberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elpidio Vitin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Club Dep. Soc. Rodo defense, Bernardo Sayvion kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jeremy Avellana. The Club Dep. Soc. Rodo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jeremy Avellana should have stopped the shot. 92 minutes into the match, Vélez Juniors's Bernardo Sayvion sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jeremy Avellana narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's Jeremy Avellana proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Club Dep. Soc. Rodo from getting a goal against them. Vélez Juniors's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
