An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 11th minute of play forced RB Chubut's goalkeeper Robert Vassenius to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Ecuador's Felix Montenegro in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye RB Chubut's goalie prevented a goal. In the 16th minute, Camilo Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Alfonso Bikendi put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. 39 minutes into the match, RB Chubut's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Robert Vassenius reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of RB Chubut booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. 42 minutes into the game, Alfonso Bikendi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 45th minute, Valentin Baristo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alfonso Bikendi to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Alfonso Bikendi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfonso Bikendi, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Robert Vassenius didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Cristian Sancho slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Robert Vassenius. That made the score 2-1 after 60 minutes of play. 64 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Andrézinho Pelé came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Andrézinho Pelé went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. After 77 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Lino Semeno who took care of the corner kick. After 78 played minutes RB Chubut got a freekick which was hit by Valentin Baristo. With his leg Robert Vassenius managed to avoid a goal in the 79thth minute, when Ecuador's Daniel Zorita fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 83 minutes of play, RB Chubut's Andrézinho Pelé made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! Robert Vassenius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. After 95 played minutes RB Chubut got a freekick which was hit by Isaac Mingo. In the 96th minute, Ezequiel Rutenio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew the final whistle, RB Chubut could leave the field as winners, despite Ecuador having more of the ball for most of the match.
