Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dario Gentili in the 3rd minute of the match. 8 minutes into the match, Marzagão's Dario Gentili sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dario Gentili took the ball and in the 8 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dario Gentili in the 12th minute of play. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mieszko Karanowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 17th minute of the match. Mieszko Karanowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 19th minute of play. In the 21st minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mieszko Karanowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mieszko Karanowski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Felix Montenegro kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dario Gentili in the 28th minute of play. Marzagão's Mieszko Karanowski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 31st minute of play. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Mieszko Karanowski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pedro Toledo kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. Cristian Sancho hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Marzagão's Mieszko Karanowski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 57th minute of play. Marzagão's Mieszko Karanowski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Marzagão from getting a goal against them. Dario Gentili took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Mieszko Karanowski made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Marzagão's Umberto Antunes got a free kick in the 68th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mieszko Karanowski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 75th minute of play forced Marzagão's goalkeeper Mieszko Karanowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Murillo do Valle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mieszko Karanowski. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Oliviero Vuelta in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. In the 87th minute, Murillo do Valle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oliviero Vuelta, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Felix Montenegro kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Marzagão had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
