Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mieszko Karanowski read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dario Gentili to strike the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dario Gentili in the 64th minute of play. Marzagão's Murillo do Valle was substituted for Dario Gentili. Marzagão's Mieszko Karanowski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Marzagão from getting a goal against them. In the 74th minute Oliviero Vuelta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Zorita made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Marzagão's Mieszko Karanowski managed to reach the ball for a save. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Marzagão had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
