Peru's Joaquin Prats managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Amadeu Capixaba in the 11 minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luz Tejedor in the 13th minute of play forced Barcellos Mineiro FC's goalkeeper Gil Coelho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peru's Julian Murillo got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Barcellos Mineiro FC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Manuel Antunes hit a great ball. Gil Coelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 30th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 36th minute of play forced Barcellos Mineiro FC's goalkeeper Gil Coelho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Julian Murillo in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gil Coelho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Peru fans' excitement grew in the 36th match minute when Peru's Julian Murillo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 43rd minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gil Coelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gil Coelho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The wind increased when Rick Cabezon made the kick off in the second half. Luiz Guilherme Garcia made in the 58th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Percy Prestes. 60 minutes into the game, Luiz Guilherme Garcia threw the ball into play from the sideline. Peru's Eliseo Mina quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 61st minute, Luz Tejedor left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Peru fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Gil Coelho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Milagros Fraga went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Luz Tejedor scored 0-5 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gil Coelho, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 73rd minute, Julian Murillo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 77th minute, one of Barcellos Mineiro FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Barcellos Mineiro FC. Gil Coelho had in the 78thth minute some difficulties stopping Luz Tejedor's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 78 minutes into the game, Luz Tejedor lined in a short shot 0-6 behind a frustrated Gil Coelho. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Julian Murillo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Julian Murillo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gil Coelho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. After some careless play in the Barcellos Mineiro FC defense, Rafael Gallo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gil Coelho. The Barcellos Mineiro FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gil Coelho should have stopped the shot. 92 minutes in the game, Eliseo Alcocer fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Gil Coelho having to interfere. 99 minutes into the match, Rafael Gallo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Gil Coelho, 0-8. Peru's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
