Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. 14 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Leandro Paredes came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 15 minutes into the match, La Scaloneta's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Tasis came free, but Dibag Martinez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 17 minutes, Lion Messi put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Benito Sanz. In the 21st minute, La Scaloneta's Lion Messi dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-0. 24 minutes into the game, Lautaro Martinez lined in a short shot 5-0 behind a frustrated Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alexander Carballo hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Efrain Moruga got a free kick in the 36th minute. In the 37th minute, Leandro Paredes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 45th minute by Lautaro Martinez got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Lion Messi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Lion Messi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 8-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Axel Tasis made a kick off. Leandro Paredes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leandro Paredes in the 58th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leandro Paredes, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. 59 minutes into the game, Axel Tasis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave La Scaloneta the free kick. Axel Tasis hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Ángel-Fabián Di María replaced Leandro Paredes. La Scaloneta's Lion Messi got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Martinez in the 73rd minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 75 minutes into the game, Julián Álvarez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 10-0. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Julián Álvarez took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 11-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julián Álvarez in the 89th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ángel-Fabián Di María in the 96th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alexander Carballo charged in rather forcefully in the 97th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alexander Carballo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alexander Carballo got a free kick in the 97th minute. There was no doubt that La Scaloneta were the better team. La Scaloneta's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
